We are dedicated to creating an inclusive space for all our employees and extending this culture of inclusion into our work.

At Chemonics, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are integral to our mission. We believe that our workforce should reflect the vast diversity of the communities we serve, and that diverse voices should be elevated and intentionally integrated into our work. We embrace diversity of identity, experience, and thought, and actively strive for inclusive behaviors, systems, and policies across our company and our work. By promoting these values, we aim to create a positive work experience that encourages a sense of belonging.

Our commitment to DEI is reflected across our company, from our CEO’s involvement with the CEO Action Pledge for Diversity and Inclusion to our commitments to serve and engage communities around our global hub offices in Washington, D.C. and London. While Chemonics’ formalized its DEI efforts in 2017 with the creation of a DEI team, the murder of George Floyd in the summer of 2020 led Chemonics’ global workforce—like so many other communities and organizations across the world— to hold challenging, important conversations about racial injustice and systemic inequities within the company and our communities.

The result was a deepened commitment to DEI, which included sweeping policy changes, doubling the number of employee resource groups, and other efforts that have been recognized by the Human Rights Campaign and Disability: IN. Our DEI Team, DEI Councils, and others within our DEI “Constellation” (teams and individuals throughout our workforce that contribute substantially to DEI activities and programming) elevate the voices of our global workforce by cultivating a culture of trust, belonging, and respect for difference through education, resources, events, and dialogue.
